“The shadow is the greatest teacher for how to come to the light.”
-Ram Dass
I’ve come to believe whole-heartedly in the above quote. I think I believe it mainly out of necessity, but nonethless, I believe. Being a human being with a brain, I’ve always found it easier to focus on the “bad” stuff- the fear, the trauma, the hurtful things that were said or the many things often left unsaid. I think now of my day to day existence as a series of choices. I get out of bed, I eat healthy food, I move my body, I do my best to be present with my daughter, I try to be kind and I choose to see the light around me, in myself and in others.
It is in that spirit of lightness that I am able to share with you some good news! Coming in spring 2019, ecce yoga will be in a new home, a home that my husband Derek and I have invested a huge amount of time and energy into in the past 9 months. We were fortunate to have found a unique, historic building in downtown Fargo that we are now busy transforming into both Derek’s dental practice and my yoga studio/community space.
It feels exciting, terrifying, energizing, exhausting and just as it should be. I feel honored to be able to continue this work downtown, where I’ve been for over a decade, teaching and holding space for others to practice and grow.
I sincerely hope you will continue to explore and connect with me as this next chapter of ecce unfolds!
With much gratitude for your support and love,
Brenda
