Our Teachers
Mantha
I am honored to facilitate ecce’s Death Cafe each month to entwine my passions of community building, death literacy, & food medicine. For each gathering I intentionally procure a cake each of us gets a slice of, symbolizing the “cake” of mortality we share. Grief, death, & dying are subjects that society tends to isolate, yet as a certified Death Doula I find these topics are pivotally necessary to nurture & hold in sacred community circle. I believe that coming together with our most challenging aspects of life holds power to transform our relationship with our humanity. I am grateful our community has this space to come together with such meaningful intention to feel safe, seen, & heard while destigmatizing the reality that each of us will die one day.
When I’m not facilitating community conversation about our mortality, I also find inspiration in spending time with my family, tending the land through gardening, singing, writing poetry, researching various topics, & accessing ancestral wisdom in my bones.
